I flew into DFW International Airport on 28 April 2022 and was fortunate enough to spend the 29th with a local birder. We birded the Palo Pinto Mountains State Park and Village Creek Drying Beds.

Among the plethora of birds seen that day the following were new;
- Carolina Chicadee
- Eastern Bluebird

- Harris’s Sparrow
- Black-capped Vireo
- Golden-cheeked Warbler

Were it not for a missed flight on my part, and the unfortunate ramifications that flowed from that, I would have had more birding in this location. There are quite a number of species reasonably common in the North Texas area that would have been new for me.
